Aghaz Integrated Development Programme (AIDP) is the nonprofit organization registered with SECP under section 42 of the Companies Ordinance 1984. The main objective of AIDP is to empower disadvantaged communities so that their lives are improved and they become self-reliant.
The name came into existence from a Joint Venture (JV) experience of Hydrolink Engineering and Equipment Company Private Limited, Green Alternative Power, Haashar Association and Zomo Ashro (AGHAZ). These four institutions are working as a Joint Venture (JV) in Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa funded project “Construction 356 Mini Micro Hydropower Projects in Northern Districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa” in Districts of Abbottabad and Battagram. The JV felt the importance of a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) after experiencing and analyzing the developmental needs of various marginalized communities.
In this regard, brainstorming and long discussions were started and it was realized that at a certain point (as an exit strategy) the need for such an organization would arise which will continue to work towards that needs in the disadvantaged communities of the country. It was then concluded that a new set up in the form of an NGO will solely work for socio-economic uplift of those who are living in poverty by strengthening their capacities, providing new opportunities, developing local enterprises at the community level. Thus, the organization with the name of “Aghaz Integrated Development Programme (AIDP)” came into existence. Initially, AIDP started its activities at grass root level with the needy and marginalized communities informally in these Districts. After closely working with the communities in its nascent stage, the organization capacitated itself and developed its own system by recruiting qualified and experienced development practitioner.
Later on, the organization was registered with Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) under Section 42 of Companies Ordinance 1984 on 5th September 2016.
Aghaz Integrated Development Programme (AIDP) is governed by the Board of Directors which currently consists of the following three directors.
